Mohamed, Child of the Desert
Born in Djanet, Mohamed Abdouali grew up in the heart of the Sahara, in an environment where the desert is part of everyday life. Coming from the El Mihane tribe, one of the oldest in the region, he is deeply connected to the history and traditions of the Tassili.
ANCESTRAL HERITAGE
A Story of Transmission
For Mohamed, knowledge of the desert is a legacy. His grandfather, Atahar, took part in the Sebeiba, an ancestral celebration emblematic of Tuareg culture. From generation to generation, knowledge is passed down: orientation, respect for the desert, the rhythm of walking and the art of living in harmony with nature.
Recognized Expertise
Trained as a tourist guide, Mohamed has extensive experience in guiding groups, organizing treks and designing journeys across the Sahara. He knows the landscapes of the Tassili and southern Algeria perfectly, having explored them for many years on foot, by camel caravan or by 4×4.
A Local Team
Mohamed works alongside a team of guides, cooks and camel handlers, all originally from Djanet or the Tassili region. Every member shares the same commitment: offering a warm welcome, quality service and an authentic experience.

Another Way of Travelling
With Mohamed, travelling becomes an immersion into the landscapes of the Sahara, Tuareg culture and authentic human encounters. Each trek is a simple, sincere and deeply human experience.
A Way of Life
Outside the treks, Mohamed is also a farmer. In his garden, he grows palm trees, fruits and vegetables, favoring fresh and natural products. His cuisine, simple and generous, reflects this deep connection to the land.
Le Jardin des Sables
In 2008, Mohamed created a unique place: Le Jardin des Sables. Designed as a warm and welcoming space, it allows travelers to be received in a friendly atmosphere, faithful to the spirit of the desert.
From 2011 to 2022, tourism activity stopped in Algeria and the camp closed its doors.
In 2024, renovation and expansion work began in order to improve the reception of travelers.
