Where the wind shapes the ephemeral, the soul finds its anchor.
Le Jardin des Sables
On the banks of the Oued Edjiriou crossing Djanet, come and enjoy the tranquility and freshness of our garden, spacious and comfortable stone-and-reed huts, modern facilities and a well-equipped kitchen. VYou will be welcomed under the Tuareg tent where we will share traditional tea together.
The City of Djanet
Located 1,600 km southeast of Algiers by air (2,200 km by road) and 500 km northeast of Tamanrasset by air (700 km by road), Djanet is the gateway to the Tassili n’Ajjer.
Built along the banks of the Oued Idjeriou, near a vast palm grove and numerous gardens, the city blends oasis life with Saharan landscapes. Perched on rocky heights, three ancient ksours — Adjahil, Azzelouaz and El-Mihane — bear witness to the first earthen villages built during medieval times.
The North of Djanet
Located 220 km northwest of Djanet by road, in the heart of the Tassili n’Ajjer, Iherir is a rare oasis nestled within a lush canyon listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A true haven of life in the middle of the desert, this village is remarkable for its permanent water sources, feeding gueltas, gardens and terraced crops.
The East of Djanet
Stretching over more than 1,000 km² between Djanet and the Libyan border, this region preserves an exceptional heritage of Saharan history.
For thousands of years, people engraved and painted scenes of their daily lives onto these rocks, leaving behind remarkable traces of ancient civilizations and life in the Sahara.
The South of Djanet
A desert of fascinating colors, constantly changing with the light: golden at sunrise, orange under the sun, then glowing red at sunset…
